Anyway, I thought I would show you guys a little peek of our living room. So far the mantle has gotten a lot of lovin’ the past month or so ♥ I don’t even know how many times I have changed it up.. but so far, this is what it looks like.
(Keep in mind that our fireplace still needs a little work. The white trim needs some retouches/repainted; and the glass on the fireplace needs to be clean and the bottom golden trim too. I would do this but Tom said that he will, and well, it’s been a couple of months and he still hasn’t done any of those… *sigh* men.)
So lets focus on the decor okay? hehe
You guys recognize that mirror? I talked about it in my living room decor post. I ended up going with this one instead of the other for it’s bigger and seems to be better quality. If you’re wondering, everything is from Target.
And the floor vase was from WalMart – Twigs from Hobby Lobby.
I know what you’re probably thinking, white & gold, yet again. (Well hey! Don’t hate haha) I know, I need some color in there but I am just so so picky! I have the perfect vase imagined in my head but I just can’t find it. I want a super tall skinny cylinder vase, in a seafoam color. I’ve looked everywhere and can not find one 🙁
But even before this, it was just those candles with the clear holders. Then I found my golden elephant at Target and had to get him! I do wish he was a little bigger though.
So the mantle looked like this for the majority of September… about a couple of weeks ago I found these Apothecary jars at Michaels – 40% off, so each were around $12.00! I snagged two of them and got myself some fillers. I was going to go with some fall colors like oranges, reds and browns. But then I saw ones that were seafoam color… I had to get those! hehe I thought it was a little fall-ish with the hints of browns too! I mean who said you have to have oranges/reds to decorate for fall? hehe I personally love sticking with natural elements.
Here’s what the mantle looks like with the Apothecary jars.
I love how it looks but I still wish I have some pretty tall skinny cylinder vases on the sides…
I’m gonna be honest with you guys, it was REALLY REALLY hard to take a photo of the mantle.
I just can’t get a good angle of it for I’m so short… 🙁
Next time I’ll try and use my tripod. But a lot of you are saying the mirror is so small.. it’s actually just the perfect size. Tom doesn’t want to go any bigger and I don’t either. Again, it’s just the angle the photo is taken.. lol I need to work on that.
I’m also planning on getting a new floor vase. I’ve had that one for years and I think it’s about time I change it up.
So that’s pretty much all I have for you all. Hopefully my next update on the living room will have our new sofa & loveseat hehe. Thank you loves for reading, ’til next time!
