Hi dolls :) So ever since I got my new Kikki K Time Planner,
I’ve received a tremendous amount of questions on why I chose it. So here’s a blog post all about “why.”
Now this post is in no way sponsored, nor am I trying to bash all other brands. I think choosing the right planner for you is all about personal preference. So please do not take this post in a negative way. I’m not trying to make you like this planner of mine/dislike the other planners mentioned; I’m just trying to say why I chose it for myself, in hopes that my reasoning will help some of you find the perfect planner for you :)
I feel like I’ve gone through so many planners this year – I’m on my third one to be exact. The very first planner I got this year in January » Large Moment Diary Scheduler ($26.95). This planner was so cute! I loved the leather, that it is big enough but small enough to carry in any of my purse. Also, you can start the planner whenever you like! Meaning you fill in the dates and such, which I think is pretty great in case you’re starting late and all that.
You can see some photos of this planner of mine here.
After using that planner for a few months, January – June, I purchased the Kate Spade 2015 Agenda in Medium ($30.00). Why? lol Because it was finally back in stock and I have been wanting it for forever >.< (not a very good reason, I know) But this planner though, is so pretty and I loved the layout of it. It also had more room to write in compare to my other planner which was super nice! Also, still small enough to carry around in pretty much all my purses.
Anyways, once I really started getting into planners, I started seeing these brands: Kikki K, Filofax, Erin Condren. And I started doing research. I know one of my best friends back from college is obsessed with Erin Condren; and for the longest time, she has been nagging me on getting one. I really was about to order one for myself for they are bigger – gives you more room to write in, also the layout is pretty neat with the “morning” “afternoon” “night” thing, and I loved how you can create your own cover. I think that is so cute and you guys know how much I love personalizing things.
BUT THEN! I saw the Kikki K and Filofax planners. Oh my goodness, they are so so so pretty! I love the leather look – looks more profesh in my opinion and I also loved all the different layouts you can use for them. I guess what it really came down with was the ability on how much I can customize my planner. I was pretty torn between the two below.
As you can see, both are pretty similar in sizes – though Kikki K planners comes in other sizes ;)
Any who, as mentioned above, it really did come down to how much I can customize my planner. Also, when I thought about it, I do have a hard time writing in notebooks/spiral bounded planners. So the 6 ring binder – being able to take out the pages to write in it really attracted me. Like a LOT hehe. But yes, as you can guess already, I went with the 6 ring binder – because to me, being able to make my own inserts and take things in and out is amazing!
Can you imagine all the possibilities? haha
Another major thing actually was the layouts of the planners. I personally love open spaces, simplicity and ltos of room to write in. I really loved my Kate Spade planner and the layout of the pages, that really works out for me and Kikki K has something similar. As for the EC Planner, it’s a vertical layout, which I think is neat and pretty organized but I don’t know if that will work out for me/what I do.
Also, I didn’t think about this until people were telling me, “Oh my gosh, I would never spend that much money on a planner.” lol I don’t know why but I didn’t really think about the price. I guess what I was more concerned of was 1. How much I can customize my planner and 2. Will the layouts work for me? So yeah, with getting a lot of comments about the “price” of the Kikki K planner, I decided to look into all the prices of the planners and make the little chart below.
Now these are just the planners I considered on getting hehe and this chart shows you how much money you will spend every year on that planner.
As you can see, you are actually getting a great deal with the Kikki K Time Planners because
for the years to come, all you need to get are the refill inserts or BONUS! You can even
make your own ♥ So I personally think that I made a very good decision on my planner.
I honestly love that I can make my own inserts and the fact that it’s such great quality with the leather.
So I think that’s about it. I hope all of this makes sense hehe and that this is somewhat helpful to some of you who are looking for the perfect planner for yourself. Thank you so much for reading! I love you guys and if you have any questions/suggestions, feel free to leave me a comment below! xoxo
