I can’t believe it’s been a month already since Tom popped the question. It seems like it was just yesterday!? So a lot of you have been asking how he proposed. Well first of all, it wasn’t a surprise. Tom and I have been talking about marriage for quite some time now, especially since we’re graduating this Spring and then moving and all that.
We started looking for rings probably around Thanksgiving break, but nothing serious until Christmas break. Tom became really serious about it and was even looking during our Christmas vacation in Puerto Rico. Finally early January we found the perfect loose diamond ♥ then found the perfect setting for it. So yes, we designed my ring together and I just love that we did that because to me, it is EXACTLY what I imagined my ring to be like; and it just means so much that he loves it just as much as I do.
Since I have super tiny fingers, I had to get my setting made… so it took over 20 days for it to be casted and all that. When we finally got it, it was almost perfect lol. They put the wrong prongs on it but it was still gorgeous… Tom proposed the next day, January 26th 2013.
He brought me by the lighthouse, it was really pretty with the lake view & all the snow, but super cold! We were there for probably almost 20 minutes, just talking and laughing about everything. Then he got down on one knee, and he looked so cute (and even though I knew what he was doing/gonna ask, I started tearing up). He had a speech, which I unfortunately only remember half of, because I didn’t wanna listen anymore for I would start balling my eyes out. lol
From what I remember, he told me that I was his love and joy and that I was the first thing he thinks about in the morning, that he wants to spend the rest of his life with me. The whole time he was talking, I was trying to hold my tears back. Just hearing him say those words, really melted my heart.
After he said “will you marry me?” I seriously couldn’t even talk, I remember just nodding and saying “Yes,” in the smallest voice/sound I could possibly make lol. He was so cute and though it wasn’t a “surprise” proposal, it was perfect. I love him so much ♥
Afterwards, we headed over to his parent’s house then mine to share the news. I was so happy that my whole family were there. My sister was in town and so were my aunt & uncle. ♥ Ahh, it’s such a great feeling to have everyone’s blessings & support. Later that night, Tom took me out for dinner ♥ Afterwards, celebrated with some of my close friends.
But the next day, not so much lol I mentioned earlier that they put the wrong prongs in, so we had to bring it back to the jeweler. It took a week for them to re-prong it. Ohhh! The longest week of my life!!!!
Once I got it back, ahhhh I almost died! lol Tom and I are super happy on how it turned out. It is just stunning ♥ I seriously can’t take my eye off this beauty. I love it so much and of course Tom. He’s the sweetest guy I know. I always ask him, “why are you so nice?” hehe Thank you so much babe for getting me the ring of my dreams! I love you and I can’t wait to walk down the aisle with you ♥
